Welcome to film production and workshops in the wild to restore balance in natural systems and people, by Stephen Curtain.Your story. From filming Antarctic research, sustainability, liveability, regenerative agriculture, to Caring for Country, I work collaboratively with you to craft your story into a cinematic film.
A 'Workshop in the Wild' is a 'water cooler conversation' woven in nature. We'll 'head bush' for a day where you'll learn film-making basics on an iPhone/iPad to capture your nature-inspired thoughts to create your 30-second story before the day is complete. Sometimes, we need to be reminded of our own inspiration…
My story. For 30 years I've been fortunate to explore and understand wild, natural systems—from local rivers and green spaces in my native Melbourne to the Australian Alps, the Blue Mountains, Russia's Kamchatka, Japan's Hokkaido to the almost-indescribable wilds of Antarctica. Making nature-based films (see
recent films including
Winter Dreaming'), teaching others to do the same and sharing journeys into wild nature continues to be 100% fulfilling and fun that makes a difference.
A today story, co-written.
Let's restore the balance together. Ultimately, more than just wild imagining, backed by science and research, we have an exciting opportunity to develop skills and an attitude, right this moment in time, that restores not only balance in natural systems but also in ourselves, specifically with:
- a growth mindset
- universal character strengths within each of us
What do I mean? If you can spare seven minutes, please watch '
Home in the Blizzard' that I produced; it combines my loves for Antarctica, the Australian Alps and a determination in every person to change the world for the better.
Backed by everyday, achievable actions, we can reverse global warming, recool the planet (see
globalcoolingearth.org) and
protectourwinters.org.
Stay cool!
